Media and Graphics

About the Program

MEDIA & GRAPHICS

Students in the Media & Graphics program will explore a variety of industry-standard, career-based technologies and develop an understanding of the creative process through hands-on exploratory activities.  The program will introduce students to graphic design and theory, including vector graphics, logo creation, and manipulation in the Adobe Creative Suite. Students discover the methodology behind visual storytelling, the production process, scriptwriting, editing techniques, visual hierarchy, studio news production, field production, copyright, fair use, and media ethics and law. As members of Red Hawk Media, students will work as a team to develop and produce ACIT’s programs, Red Hawk News, and Hawk Talk. Multi-camera crews record each of the shows in our Performing Arts Center and edit them into professional presentations. As students progress through the program, they will work on the development of personal portfolios and reels to utilize for post-secondary education or career applications. Program graduates are eligible to earn the industry-standard ACA Certification in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
