Program Overview

Blend science, creativity, and entrepreneurship in a program that prepares students for careers in the beauty and wellness industry. This program delivers the full 1,000 hours of intensive technical instruction required by the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology for professional licensure. Students master hair styling, advanced color chemistry, chemical texturizing, skin care, shaving, and nail technology. During their junior and senior years, students provide services to members of the public in ACIT's full-service salon, gaining authentic experience in customer service, scheduling, retail sales, and salon operations. Schedule permitting, students are encouraged to partake in work-based learning experiences outside of the building.
