About the Program

HEALTH SCIENCES
The Health Sciences is a program designed for students to pursue the rigors of higher education in the medical/science fields of study. Students prepare  for related careers such as a medical physician, dentist, nurse, surgical technician, physical therapist, athletic trainer, veterinarian, dietitian and pharmacist.  Students in the senior year will have the option of two tracks: the completion of  EMT certification and Advanced Topics in Health Science course in partnership with Stockton University or electives associated with the field of Exercise Science. Schedule permitting, students are encouraged to partake in SLE experiences outside of the building. Program graduates earn a high school diploma, and pending pathway of choice, EMT certification and CPR certification along with the option for college credit through articulation and dual enrollment agreements with Rutgers University, Stockton University, Rowan College at Gloucester County and Atlantic Cape Community College. By graduation, students are equipped with practical skills as well as an in-depth knowledge of biology, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology, well poised to continue their education in academia or directly into a health science career.
