Climate Survey
Positive feedback from staff, students, and parents:
-overall collaboration has improved
-implementation of technology tools
-finding new methods for communication
-students appear to be adapting well

Challenges:
-time and opportunities for collaboration 
-the lack of control over the unknowns
-interaction and communication is just different, and different takes time getting used to
Tiers Of Support
-All curricula has been modified to fit within a semester schedule; all pacing guides reflect both the hybrid and remote environments
-All major subject area students will complete a diagnostic to give educators a better of idea of skills acquired in 19-20 and to accommodate any gaps 
-Multi-tiered curriculum with differentiation strategies 
-Universal design for learning strategies 
-Co-teachers in English, Social Studies, Science, and Math classes
-Foundations program supports special education students
-Expansive tutoring both hybrid and remotely, including after school, nights and weekends

Intervention and Referral Services
The I&RS Team includes: 
Administrators
Counselors

Child study team representatives
Responsibility of the I&RS Team:
-Collects and evaluates relevant data
-Identifies barriers to student performance
-Determines interventions to alleviate concerns and develops an action plan, which is then monitored by an assigned case manager from the I&RS team
504 Plans
-A 504 plan is a legal binding plan, developed for an individual, who has a diagnosed physical or mental impairment that affects the student’s educational success
-Allows for adjustments, modifications and accommodations to the environment, work pace, presentation of materials, assignments, testing and grading
-Written by the individual’s guidance counselor and completed through the guidance department
The Child Study Team and IEPs
The Child Study Team offers support services to students found eligible for Special Education and/or related services through the development of an IEP. An IEP is a legal binding written document, which identifies the areas of strength and weakness while providing a guideline for individualized programming. 
 
Academic Program Options for Individuals with an IEP:
Resource Center Classrooms (Special Education)
-Small group setting where special education teacher provides instruction in a special education classroom for a specified subject.
In Class Resource Classrooms (Inclusion-General Education)
-Setting where one general and one special education teacher work collaboratively to provide instruction in the general education classroom.
General Education Classrooms
-Larger group setting with one certified teacher.
-Levels of rigor are varied: Applied, College Prep, Honors, Advanced Placement.
**Career Tech programs are fully mainstreamed**
Related Services (Speech, OT, PT) for eligible students, are provided through Itinerant services (ACSSSD)
ACIT’s Goals and Initiatives
Continue to increase student achievement in language arts and mathematics through targeted intervention as measured by internal benchmarks, course summative assessments, and SGOs
 
Measure growth and progress in CTE courses through competency skill rubrics
 
Implement a data-drive individual student progress monitoring system that will analyze grades, attendance and discipline data relative to the requirements for graduation and provide multiple opportunities for students to recover credit to ensure targeted students meet the necessary requirements for graduation
 
Through extensive outreach activities facilitated by coaches, advisors, administrators, and faculty,  the number of students participating in extracurricular activities (Athletics, Clubs and Activities) will increase to promote social and emotional health as well as a sense of belonging to enhance school climate
 
Continue to enhance communication with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community through Parent University
Implementation of ACIT’s Schoolwide Plan 
-LinkIt!: Online testing platform that provides student assessment data intended to improve student achievement
-Skills-based curriculum centered around the NJ Student Learning Standards 
-Teacher Autonomy
-Infusion of literacy and mathematics in all CTE Areas 
-Schoolwide Professional Learning Communities 
-Targeted Professional Development
-New teacher induction program with monthly support meetings
-After school opportunities and Support for Students
-Stay in contact with families to stress the importance of being present at school
-1:1 Initiative (Chromebooks for all students)
-Digital tools for instruction (Turnitin; focus on implementation of digital, media, and global literacies; NewsELA, IXL for math)
