Atlantic County Institute of Technology

Autmotive Technology

Automotive Technology is a four year program developed to prepare students for a future career as an automotive technician and/ or mechanic. Students receive lectures and participate in working ACIT's auto shop. Instructors are ASE Certified and the program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).  Program graduates earn a high school diploma and an industry recognized certificate. Students can purse a college degree in transportation technology or begin a career in industry upon graduation.

 

Dental Assistant

This program enables students to develop the basic knowledge and skills required for an entry level position as a Dental Assistant. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on performance to attain mastery. Upon program completion students will earn a high school diploma and will be eligible to take the Dental Association exam and enter the working world or purse a college degree.

 

Medical Assistant

Through this program, students develop required skills to assist doctors, treat patients and perform administrative duties in healthcare settings such as medical offices, nursing homes, hospitals and pharmacies. Opportunities are given to participate in the school-to-work program and earn college credits as well earn a diploma during the four year program. Graduates take the National Medical Assistant exam for certification and are also eligible for American Heart Association CPR certification at the end of the program and can enter the working world or purse a college degree.

 

Cosmetology

Our Cosmetology Program has been developed to fulfill state licensing requirements and is highlighted by hands on experience. Within the program students focus on hair design & coloring, skin & nail care and the business of running a salon. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the NJ State Board of Cosmetology Examination and launch their cosmetology careers.

 

Fashion Decoration & Design

Students entering this program will acquire basic knowledge needed for all areas of the fashion industry. They will be introduced to style and line, figure analysis, color theory, garment construction, textiles, and numerous hand sewing techniques as well as marketing and manufacturing both nationally and internationally. Program graduates earn an industry recognized certification and can continue an education or work in the fashion industry.

 

Computer Aided Drafting & Design

With CADD playing such a crucial role in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, surveying, landscape design, construction and other related areas, students of this program benefit from a wealth of career opportunities. Upon completion of the program, students can earn a high school diploma and immediately seek employment as an entry level drafts person or continue on in their education.
