About Our Special Education Program

Students in Atlantic County are introduced to the ACIT Special Education Programs during the fall of their eighth grade year. They obtain applications and then decide, with their parents, if they want to apply to one of the six programs. If they choose to do so, they will visit ACIT and spend a day visiting classes in which they have an interest. After the visit, the instructors will determine the potential enrollee’s suitability and level of interest. Parents will then be notified as to their child’s status.

ACIT offers six programs for incoming freshmen:

• Introduction To Auto/Diesel Technology
• Introduction To Building Technology
• Introduction To Fashion Careers
• Introduction To Food Service
• Introduction To Plumbing
