ACIT IS NOW AN ASE TESTING SITE!

Students will need to visit http://www.ase.com to set up an account or call 1-877-346-9327.

Once you create an account you will be assigned an ASE ID #. You need this ID # in order to schedule testing appointments with the Evening School. ACIT will offer two testing nights, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm – 9:00pm during evening school sessions. If you plan on taking multiple tests on one night, they must not exceed 3 testing hours.

Auto Body Repair I *

Includes bodywork, maintenance and repair to automobiles. Hands on activities are included.

Automotive Technology & Service I *
 
VR1G01

This is a 2-semester course; however students can attend each semester separately. This course is for the student who is interested in pursuing a career in the Automobile service industry. A 50/50 mix of classroom theory and practical hands-on shop application, this course will prepare the student as an entry-level technician in auto dealerships, private repair garages or national franchise shops. This course will also help those currently employed in the industry who desires to further their career potential. School vehicles and required tools are provided, and the students can work on their own vehicle where it coincides with training. This program will also help prepare the student for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. (continued on next page)

Areas of Study Include:

  • Computerized Engine Controls, Fuel Injection, and Ignition Systems
  • Gasoline/Diesel Engine Repair and Performance
  • Emission Control Systems & Brakes
  • Electrical System Operation/Diagnosis

Automotive Engine Performance *
 
VR1G02

This course is designed for the student who would like to gain employment in the auto service industry, as well as those who are currently unemployed in the industry and want to advance their career to the next level. Since most vehicle systems are now heavily electronic, this skill area is in high demand throughout the service industry. For NEW ENROLLMENTS ONLY!

Areas of study include:

  • Electrical Theory, Circuits, and Schematics including Ohm’s Law
  • Batteries, Starters, Alternators, & Generator
  • Digital Voltmeters / Ohmmeter (DVOM), Lab Scopes, and Introduction to Scan Tools 

The course is a 50/50 mix between classroom training and hands-on shop work. All required tools and shop vehicles are provided, and students can work on their own vehicles where it coincides with scheduled training. This course also prepares students for successful completion of the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Electrical/Electronics Systems test.

Automotive Engine Performance *
 
VR1G03

This course is designed for the student who desires to update their skills to the latest gasoline/diesel engine electronic technologies. This course is also designed to assist students in obtaining Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in automotive area A8-Automotive Engine Performance. The course is a 50/50 mix of classroom instruction and shop service experience. All necessary equipment and tools are provided, as well as shop vehicles. Students can also perform service on their own vehicles. There is also a textbook utilized for classroom instruction sessions.

Areas of Study Include:

  • 4-stroke engine operation
  • Engine mechanical testing
  • Ignition system operation (conventional and distributorless)
  • Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)
  • 2nd generation on-board diagnostic systems (OBD-II)
  • Multi meters
  • Scan Tools
  • Lab Scopes
  • 4 and 5 gas emission analysis
